The week isn't over yet but it's been a productive one so far. Today I've been taking a little break and doing mostly household errands. Brad just got back from a trip to Costco, and we are no stocked up again on drinks and other household items. I'm going to get a car wash in a bit and then continue, and hopefully finish my chapter 5 today/tonight. What a relief! Brad is going out for dinner so I will have the night to myself. Last night, I went to Houston's with my friend Sharon. I had the most delicious caesar salad and then managed to eat a burger and fries. It marked my second burger in the last two weeks...and it was delicious. I've been really craving red meat lately so I'm just listening to what my body needs. Apparently, it also needs dairy because I've been eating a lot of yoghurt and cheese lately. Naturally, my skin is suffering from it, ugh. Such a pain in the butt, but dairy makes me break out! Switzerland is coming up in a week and god knows how much cheese I'll eat over there haha. I'm looking forward to our trip, but as every trip the planning and preparation can be a lot especially when traveling with kids. Having animals and a garden, just means more work...and money. But what can you do, it just is part of the deal. I'm still going to be in my first trimester on this trip but I've been feeling pretty good. The queasiness is pretty much gone and the only thing I have an aversion to is coffee at the moment. I'm still pretty tired, especially when I'm on the computer I start feeling tired around late morning or early afternoon. Last night I slept well and my back did not hurt in the morning. It's still very tight and I did my stretches in bed but thankfully it wasn't bothering me and I slept until 7am. Maybe it's because I stopped running. I don't think running helps my back at all. In exchange, I started power walking and I have to say it's a pretty good work out. Apparently, you burn just as many calories as running and it's better on the body. I have to really concentrate to walk consistently fast and not slow down, and when i do that I can really feel it in my legs. So, I think that will be my new work out for now. I could do some yoga, I looked into a new studio (sadly, no bikram for me for now...doctor's order) and there is one not too far away (and I know one of the owners) but I'm not sure when I'll start. Maybe I'll go once a week, I don't think I can commit to more right now. I'm too busy with my dissertation and other stuff and yoga just takes up a lot of time. I loved bikram for many reasons, but one of them is it's short distance from my house. It can't get more convenient than that. Since it's been so hot here lately, I've been wanting to swim too (that's when I really want a pool at our house) but there isn't a pool close by that I could regularly visit. Actually, that's not true. Our park has a pool but it's only open in the summer and at random hours. Plus, when it is open it's always filled with a ton of kids.
Deco Capital went under contact on their first deal this week. So exciting, and I am so proud of Brad. He worked hard on this deal, and it's at a very interesting and desirable location so it's going to be so cool to see what they build there. Deco is also looking to purchase the lot next door (that Brad originally almost had under contract in December, but then fell apart which was not his fault) so that will be interesting to see if it can happen...The goal is for them to eventually purchase the entire block and develop retail and condos. Very cool.
Ok, I think that's it for now. I still don't know if we are having a boy or a girl...obviously I don't know yet but I mean don't really have a gut feeling for certain...but if I would have to choose I think it's another girl. We won't find out until a while but when once we know, I will immediately planning what to do with the future nursery. First, we have to sell or give away most of the things in our current guest bedroom...and then the fun stuff begins. I definitely want to paint that room (Brad doesn't know it yet, but I am planning on recruiting him to do it LOL). If it's a girl I would love to do some light pink shade, and if it's a boy I'm not sure yet...probably in the blue family...It will definitely be a fun project to do over the holidays!
