Lazy Weekend Evenings

It's Saturday night and Brad and I hanging out at the house after eating a delicious pick up meal from Harry's, one of our favorite pizza restaurants in Miami. We've been ordering from there a lot lately. So yummy. Always on Saturdays haha. We've cancelled our weekend night nanny three times already because we haven't been in the mood to go out. Or at least I haven't, and then I think I infect Brad with my homey vibe. Instead though we've been wanting to do things during the day on weekends, and sometimes without Maia. For example, we've been wanting to go play tennis, or have a relaxing brunch at times. So we asked our nanny if she could come on Saturday mornings for a few hours so we can have some alone time. Today she came for the first time and even though we couldn't play tennis because it rained all morning it was nice to hang out in the morning, take a shower and head to a nice breakfast just the two of us. I think it's important to have that so we are trying to do it more often now. Especially that I am pregant, I don't feel like going out at night so much. I get tired very early (already I know) and I'd much rather go for brunches and do sports.

Maia is cute as a button. I can't get enough of that girl. This afternoon we went over to our friend's pool in our neighborhood and practiced her swimming. She gets so excited it's so funny to watch her. Just adorable. Brad and I often end up bickering during her practice because we have different ideas on what she's doing wrong or what she could do better. It's pretty funny actually. Today we practiced the regular swimming back and forth, also using the stairs this time and then some new stuff...diving. I brought her sunglasses and placed them on the stairs and she had to dive under, reach for them and then find the stairs and make her way up again. I thought the lesson went better today than it did last week so I am happy. I am still a little concerned about her opening her mouth under water and swallowing more water than she should. She has a full diaper after her practice and I'm not sure if that's normal or not. I will ask the instructor on Monday. The swim classes are definitely a commitment..every day Maia and I leave at 7:45am and don't get back until 9:15. The class is only 10 minutes. It's so worth it though I think. And it's become our morning routine, I kind of like it. Fridays we get in the pool with her and she loves it. Then we practice in the water. I'm becoming so much comfortable with her in the water because she is actually loving it and feeling more comfortable herself. I'm so glad we are doing this now!

Pregnancy wise I've been feeling really good. My back has been hurting less too..thankfully! I went to my first acupuncture session last week and it really helped. It stimulated my muscles and it's been a lot better since. I am going back again next week. I really like my acupuncturist. He's such a great guy and remembered me and everything I had told him when I came to see him when I was pregnant with Maia. He was so curious to know how my birth went and was happy to hear that the day I had a session with him, I went into the labor the next morning. I think it really helped put me into labor. I went about 4 or 5 times to see him then.

I really haven't been craving sweets at all. At night I often don't have any sweets after dinner. Even though I now feel like it's a girl, I sometimes wonder about my change of cravings from my first pregnancy. This time I seem to crave more sour and salty and less sweets. Though I'm not sure if I remember feeling that with Maia in the beginning too, and then later on craving more sweets. Also, sometimes I look at my belly and it seems rounder than it was with Maia. But that could also be because it's my second pregnancy and I am showing way sooner than I did first time around. I think still it's a girl, that is my gut feeling if I had to guess. I was unsure but since last week that's what I am thinking. We can't wait to find out September 30th!
